CHAPTER 72
(Senate Bill 85)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
230 (2) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1951 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title
"State Tax Commission", providing that the State Tax
Commission shall issue and distribute instructions cover-
ing the laws and duties as to assessments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 230 (2) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes",
sub-title "State Tax Commission", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

(2) To supervise the administration of the assessment
and tax laws of Maryland, and of each county or city
thereof. As part of its supervision of such laws, the State
Tax Commission shall print or otherwise duplicate suitable
instructions and directions which are to be distributed to
the several Boards of County Commissioners, all assessing
officers and others having any duties in relation to assess-
ments, such instructions and directions to cover generally
the duties to be performed and the procedures to be fol-
lowed in the making and recording of assessments.

SEC 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1954.
