been amended by Chapter 250 of the Acts of 1949, re-
lating to the compensation of jurors in Washington
County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 20 of Article 51 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Juries, " sub-title
"Qualification and Selection of Jurors, " said section hav-
ing been amended by Chapter 250 of the Acts of 1949, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
20. Jurors in Anne Arundel [County] and Washing-
ton Counties shall receive Six Dollars per day and in all
other Counties, Five Dollars per day for each and every
day they shall attend the several courts of this State as
jurors and Fifteen Cents for each mile over five miles for
going to and returning from the court, once in each term,
to be paid by the Counties, respectively, in which courts
are held. Jurors in Baltimore City shall receive such com-
pensation as shall be provided in the Ordinance of Esti-
mates of said City each year.
It shall be the duty of the County Commissioners of the
several Counties and of the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore to levy each year a sufficient sum to pay for the
compensation of jurors, as provided by this section.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
