tration of any pension or retirement fund or system are
hereby authorized to issue rules and regulations to carry
out the provisions of this section, any present rules and
regulations to the contrary notwithstanding.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 43B of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1947 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Contraceptives—Sale by Vending
Machines, " eliminating the provision permitting sale of
contraceptives in places where alcoholic beverages are
sold for consumption on the premises.
MACHINES, " PROVIDING THAT CONTRACEP-
TIVES MAY NOT BE SOLD IN PLACES WHERE
ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES ARE SOLD FOR CON-
SUMPTION ON THE PREMISES IN HOWARD
COUNTY.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 43B of Article 27 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Crimes and Punish-
ments, " sub-title "Contraceptives—Sale by Vending Ma-
chines, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
43B. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or cor-
poration to sell or offer for sale any contraceptive or con-
traceptive device by means of a vending machine or other
automatic device whether or not such contraceptive or
contraceptive device is advertised as such or as a pro-
phylactic, [except in places where alcoholic beverages are
