in said plat at the southwesternmost corner thereof; thence
easterly, up said branch and with the meanderings thereof
to the southwestern corner of the corporate limits as shown
on said plat; thence with said limits, as shown, north 82
degrees 10 minutes east 225 feet, more or less, to the east-
erly side of South Second Street Extended, as shown on a
plat of the Lawrence B. Towers Sub-division of the Lands
of John S. Barnhart, recorded among the Land Records of
Caroline County in Liber No. 81 Folio 98; thence southerly
with the easterly side of said Street, as shown on the last
named plat, 332 feet, more or less, to the division line be-
tween Lots Nos. 16 and 17; thence easterly with the divi-
sion line between said Lots Nos. 16 and 17, 150 feet, more
or less, to a 20-foot alley there being, and shown on said plat;
thence with the westerly side of said alley, as there shown,
south 5 degrees 45 minutes west 417. 2 feet, more or less, to the
Kerr land; thence easterly with the Kerr land and the south-
erly side of a 30-foot street shown on said plat, 1213½ feet,
more or less, to the eastern limits of Lot No. 29 as shown on
said plat; thence northerly with the division line between said
Lot No. 29 and the Towers & Redden Land as shown on a plat
recorded among the Land Records of Caroline County in Liber
No. 69, Folio 573, 500 feet, more or less, to a corner in said
Town's limits at the northern side of Choptank Avenue as
shown on the aforesaid plat recorded in Liber
No. 75 Folio 187;
thence with said Town limits as shown on said last mentioned
plat to the place of beginning.

(b) Upon petition praying annexation, attaching a descrip-
tion of any area adjacent to the boundaries of said Town,
signed by the owners of more than one-half of the parcels and
more than one-half in assessed value, of the real property in the
area proposed to be
annexed, The. Commissioners of Denton
shall have power to pass an ordinance annexing said area or so
much thereof as the said Commissioners shall deem wise, such
annexation to take effect upon filing such petition and the
ordinance thereon together with an accurate surveyor's map
of the area included for recording, in the Office of the Clerk of
the Circuit Court for Caroline County, with the recording fees
therewith, whereupon it shall be the
duty of the said Clerk to
record the same in the Land Record Books of said County. All
existing laws, Town ordinances, rules and regulations by what-
ever name shall be
applicable from the date of annexation as
fully and effectively in any area hereby or by said Commis-
sioners annexed as if the area had been within the Town limits
when passed.

127. (a) The government of said body corporate shall be
vested in, and exercised and enforced by a Board of five Com-
