CHAPTER 251
(House Bill 428)

AN ACT to repeal Sections 74 to 86, inclusive, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Montgomery County (1947 Edition),
being Sections 122-1 to 122-13, inclusive, of the Montgomery
County Code of 1950, being Article 16 of the Public Local
Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery County, " sub-title
"Chevy Chase, " sub-heading "Chevy Chase Village, " and to
enact in lieu thereof seventeen new sections to be known as
Sections 74—86D (122-1—122-17) inclusive, providing a new
Charter for Chevy Chase Village in Montgomery County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Sections 74 to 86, inclusive, of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Montgomery County (1947 Edition), being
Sections 122-1 to 122-13, inclusive, of the Montgomery County
Code of 1950, being Article 16 of the Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Montgomery County, " sub-title "Chevy
Chase", sub-heading "Chevy Chase Village, " be and they are
hereby repealed and that seventeen new sections, to be known
as Sections 74—86D (122-1—122-17) inclusive, be and they
are hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to read as follows:

74 (122-1). (Area Incorporated. ) The inhabitants of Sections
1, 2, and part of l(a) of the Village of Chevy Chase, Mont-
gomery County, Maryland
, are hereby constituted a body
corporate and specifically a town as that term is used in the
laws of the State of Maryland, by the name of "Chevy Chase
Village, " with all the powers and privileges of a body politic
and corporate, and by that name may have perpetual succes-
sion, sue and be sued, plead and be impleaded in any court of
law or equity, may have the use of a common seal, and hold
real, personal, and mixed property when the best interests of
the town so demand. The repealing of the former Section 74
of the 1947 Edition of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mont-
gomery County, and the enactment of this new section shall
not be construed as terminating the existence of the corpora-
tion know as "Chevy Chase Village" but shall be construed as
continuing the existence of the corporation known as Chevy
Chase Village.

75 (122-2) (Boundaries Prescribed. ) The corporate limits
of Chevy Chase Village shall be as follows: Beginning for the
