614 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 243

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That before any tax shall
be levied under the provisions of this Act, the question of such
levy shall first be submitted to the legally qualified voters of
the Town of Edmonston in the 1st precinct of the 16th Election
District of Prince George's County at the next Town election
to be held May 7, 1951. There shall be printed! on the ballot
to be used at said election the title of this Act and underneath
said title, on separate lines, a square or box to the right of
and opposite the words "For Fire Tax", and a corresponding
square or box to the right of and opposite the words "Against
Fire Tax", so that the voters shall be able to designate by a
crossmark in the proper square or box his or her decision for
or against said fire tax. If a majority of the votes cast at the
said Town election shall be "For Fire Tax", then said tax
shall be levied against all real and personal property located
within the corporate boundaries of said Town and paid over
in accordance with the provisions of this Act, but if a ma-
jority of the votes cast shall be "Against Fire Tax", then this
Act shall be of no effect and shall be null and void in that
particular Town of the 16th Election District.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 243
(House Bill 236)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
1286 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's
County (Flack's 1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter
917, Section 3, of the Acts of 1941, as amended by Chapter
619 of the Acts of 1949, so as to increase the debt limitation
therein provided for and to provide that evidences of in-
debtedness issued thereunder may be issued and sold at
public or private sale and shall be payable from unlimited
ad valorem taxes of the county in the event the assessment
and taxes in any special improvement district shall prove
insufficient for said purpose.
