(House Bill 164)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 326
of the Anne Arundel County Code (1947 Edition), being
Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-title "Fire Companies, "
as said section was amended by Chapter 231 of the Acts
of 1949, and to add a new section to the said Anne Arundel
County Code, to be known as Section 326A and to follow
immediately after Section 326, relating to the levying of a
special fire tax in the Seventh and Eighth Election Districts
of Anne Arundel County and to the use of the taxes so col-
lected for the support of the Deale Volunteer Fire Depart-
ment.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 326 of the Anne Arundel County Code (1947
Edition), being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel County, " sub-title "Fire
Companies, " as said section was amended by Chapter 231
of the Acts of 1949, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and that a new section be and it is hereby
added to said Code, to be known as Section 326A, to follow
immediately after Section 326 of said Code, and all to read
as follows:
326. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
are hereby authorized and empowered to levy a special tax
in each Election District of Anne Arundel County to raise
an amount of money not exceeding Forty-four Thousand Dol-
lars ($44, 000. 00) for the year 1950 and every year thereafter
including such additional amounts as may be necessary for
the purchase, maintenance, operation and replacement re-
serves of fire fighting equipment, truck quarters and chauffeurs'
dormitories, of Volunteer Fire Companies of Anne Arundel
County, including the City of Annapolis, and such other Vol-
unteer Fire Companies as may be created hereafter, by and
with the consent of said County Commissioners and the Mayor
and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis for the Sixth District
of Anne Arundel County. [The amount to be distributed to
the Fire Company or companies of each Election District shall
