CHAPTER 210
(Senate Bill 94)
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Car-
roll County to levy not exceeding Fifteen Thousand Dol-
lars ($15, 000. ) towards the cost of construction of the
War Memorial Medical Center.
WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for the construc-
tion of the War Memorial Medical Center authorized by
Chapter 538 of the Acts of 1947; therefore
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Carroll County are
hereby authorized to levy not exceeding Fifteen Thousand
Dollars ($15, 000. ) to be used towards the construction of
the War Memorial Medical Center authorized by Chapter
538 of the Acts of 1947, plans for which have already been
made.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all of the members elected to each of the
two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 211
(Senate Bill 114)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 38A (j) of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "County Commis-
sioners, " sub-title "County Treasurers, " as said section
was amended by Chapter 548 of the Acts of 1949, pro-
viding for expenses of secretarial services for the Treas-
urer of Garrett County.
