of $3, 600. 00 and an Assistant State's Attorney who shall re-
ceive an annual salary of $2, 500. 00.

37 (A) (k) (12) In Prince George's County, the State's Attor-
ney shall receive $1, 500. 00 per annum for expenses, and the
Deputy State's Attorney shall receive $400. 00 per annum for
expenses. In addition thereto, the State's Attorney is hereby
authorized and empowered to appoint a stenographer, who shall
perform such stenographic and clerical duties as he or she may
be
directed by said State's Attorney to perform, and who shall
receive a salary, in the discretion of the County Commissioners
of said County, not exceeding Twenty five Hundred Dollars
($2, 500. 00) per annum.
THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS
($3, 000. 00) PER ANNUM.

1287. The official duties of said State's Attorney shall in-
clude his attendance and services before the Justices of the
Peace and Trial Magistrates of said County when in his judg-
ment the public interests require his participation, as the repre-
sentative of the State of Maryland, in proceedings before said
Justices and Magistrates. The State's Attorney and the Deputy
State's Attorney, or either of them, shall present cases to the
Grand Jury of Prince George's County, and perform such other
acts and duties in relation to said Grand Jury as are necessary
and proper.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
