SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 198
(House Bill 400)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
37A (i) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys
in Fact', sub-title "State's Attorney", as said section was
amended by Chapter 424 of the Acts of 1949; to add a new
section to said Article to be known as Section 37A (k) (12),
to follow immediately after Section 37A (k) (11) thereof;
to repeal Section 1287 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Prince George's County (1943 Edition), as amended, and to
enact in lieu thereof a new Section 1287, all of said sections
relating to the office of the State's Attorney of Prince
George's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 37A (i) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and
Attorneys in Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", as said
section was amended by Chapter 424 of the Acts of 1949, be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments;
that a new section be and it is hereby added to said Article
to be known as Section 37A (k) (12), to follow immediately
after Section 37A (k) (11) thereof; that Section 1287 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Prince George's County (1943
Edition), as amended, be and it is hereby repealed and that a
new Section 1287 be and it is hereby enacted in lieu thereof
and all to read as follows:

37A (i) The State's Attorneys of Anne Arundel and Prince
George's Counties shall each receive an annual salary of
$5, 000. 00. In Prince George's County [there shall be one
Assistant State's Attorney at an annual salary of $2, 000. 00. ]
, the State's Attorney is authorized and empowered to appoint
a Deputy State's Attorney who shall receive an annual salary
