CHAPTER 190
(House Bill 61)

AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners of Harford
County to pay a pension to W. Elijah Somerville.

WHEREAS,, Mr. W. Elijah Somerville has been County Sur-
veyor of Harford County since the year 1908 and has performed
valuable and meritorious work for the County Commissioners;
and

WHEREAS, his occupation has been carried on on a "piece
work basis", making it difficult to fit Mm into any pension
system; now therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That the County Commissioners of Harford County be
and they are hereby authorized in their discretion to pay a
pension to Mr. W. Elijah Somerville, said pension to be not
more than $1, 500 annually.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951, or as of the date when Mr. W. Elijah Somer-
ville resigns as County Surveyor of Harford County, whichever
is the later date.

Approved March 24, 1951.

CHAPTER 191
(House Bill 195)

AN ACT to add a new section to the Code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (1943 Edition), being
Article 17 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Prince George's County", sub-title "Capitol Heights",
to be known as Section 138A and to follow immediately after
Section 138 of said Article, extending the boundaries of the
Town of Capitol Heights, and providing for a referendum
thereon.
