daily interested in the business to be conducted by said
licensee. Upon receipt of a properly executed application
and upon receipt of the proper license fee, the said Clerk
shall forthwith issue an appropriate certificate evidencing:
that such license is thereby issued and the required license
fees are thereby paid and said certificate shall enumerate
and list a number for each of the devices thereby licensed
for said premises. At the time of issuing said certificate,
the Clerk shall also issue a metal plate which shall have
stamped thereon a number, corresponding to the number
assigned to the device on the certificate, which metal plate
thereafter shall be securely fastened to the amusement de-
vice in such a manner as will be visible. All machines or
devices licensed hereunder shall be maintained and oper-
ated on the inside of the licensed premises only.
(d). Each distributor securing a license hereunder shall
on or before the tenth day of each month report the name
and address of every person, firm or corporation residing
or having a place of business in Charles County, to whom
any such amusement machine or device has been sold or
leased by him during the preceding month.
(e). All licenses issued under this section shall expire
on May 1 of each year. Each license fee shall be pro-rated
to the month of issue, but no refund shall be allowed for
ceasing to exercise the privilege of the license before
expiration.
84E. The County Commissioners shall appoint a License
Clerk who, prior to assuming office, shall execute a good
bond, in the penalty of any amount which shall be fixed by
the County Commissioners, for the faithful performance
of his duties as License Clerk, and further conditioned that
he shall well and truly account for and pay over to the per-
son or persons or body corporate entitled thereto, any and
all money coming into his possession as License Clerk,
which bond shall be approved by the County Commission-
ers or a majority of them. The County Commissioners may
require the License Clerk to give as surety in the bond re-
quired of him by this section one of the corporations au-
thorized by the laws of this State to become surety on
official bonds, provided that in such case the said County
Commissioners shall pay the premium or charge for such
suretyship. Said License Clerk shall serve at the pleasure
of the said County Commissioners, at such hours as they
shall reasonably designate; and shall issue all licenses pro-
vided for herein and collect all sums required to be paid
therefor. Sums collected shall be deposited in such banks as
