CHAPTER 138
(Senate Bill 146)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 270 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester County",
sub-title "Revenue and Taxes", as said section was
amended by Chapter 428 of the Acts of 1943, authoriz-
ing an increase in the salary of the Deputy Treasurer
and Clerk to the Treasurer of Worcester County.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 270 of Article 24 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Worcester
County", sub-title "Revenue and Taxes", as said section
was amended by Chapter 428 of the Acts of 1943, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
270. The Treasurer shall appoint a deputy, who shall
perform such duties as the said Treasurer may require, and
for whose official conduct said Treasurer shall be responsi-
ble, and who shall act in his stead and place in his absence,
and said deputy shall be paid an annual salary [not ex-
ceeding ($1, 600. 00] NOT EXCEEDING Twenty-five Hun-
dred Dollars ($2, 500. 00) by Worcester County. The said
Treasurer is hereby authorized and empowered to employ
a clerk in addition to the said deputy, at such compensation
as may be fixed by the County Commissioners TREAS-
URER of Worcester County, not exceeding [($1, 600. 00)]
Two Thousand Dollars ($2, 000. 00) per year, to be paid by
said county.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
