the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince
George's County", sub-title "Cheverly", and to enact
in lieu thereof, thirty-one (31) new sections numbered
187-217, inclusive, of said Article, title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Cheverly", repealing the Charter
of the Town of Cheverly and enacting a new corporate
Charter in lieu thereof, and providing for a referendum
thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
that sections 187-228, inclusive, of the code of Public Local
Laws of Prince George's County (Flack's Edition, 1943),
being a part of Article 17 of the code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, title "Prince George's County", sub-title
"Cheverly", be and the same are hereby repealed and in
lieu thereof, are enacted thirty-one (31) new sections to
be known as sections 187-217, of said article, and to read
as follows:

187. The citizens of the Town of Cheverly are a body
corporate, by the name of "The Mayor and Town Council
of Cheverly", with all the powers and privileges of a
body politic and corporate, and by that name shall have
perpetual succession; sue and be sued, plead and be im-
pleaded, defend and be defended in all courts of few and
equity and in all actions whatsoever; power to adopt and
use a common seal which may be altered at pleasure;
authority to acquire property, real, personal and mixed,
by any and all lawful means for municipal purposes, and
power to hold, use, manage and dispose of such property
as the public interest may require; and shall be vested
with the power of eminent domain to condemn and con-
vert property to the public use of the town for the pur-
pose of widening or constructing streets, widening or con-
structing sidewalks, for drainage projects and public build-
ings, and for parks, and parking areas, in the manner and
procedure as is, or shall be provided by the laws of the
State of Maryland for state and county purposes.

BOUNDARIES

188. The boundaries of said town shall be as follows:
beginning at the northwest corner of the Cheverly prop-
erties, thence in a southerly direction with the western
line of sections seven, ten, nine and eight of said proper-
ties to the Tuxedo subdivision line and with the Cheverly-
Tuxedo line in a southeasterly direction, thence with the
eastern Tuxedo boundary in a southerly direction and
across the right of way of the Pennsylvania Railroad to
