for one year FOURTEEN (14) MONTHS prior to said
date, shall become, without examination, a permanent
member of the Classified Service with the same classifica-
tion as that held by him on June 1, 1951.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

AN ACT to repeal Sections 1-31, inclusive, 57A and 65 of
Article 97 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition) as amended, title 'Weights and Measures":
Section 138 of Article 25 of said Code, title "County
Commissioners", sub-title "Meridian Line" of said Code;
Section 203 of Article 27 of said Code, title "Crimes and
Punishments", sub-title "Fraud—Fruit and Vegetable
Packing"; and to enact in lieu thereof 37 new sections
to be known as Sections 1-31E, inclusive, and 57A of
said Article and to be under sub-title "Standards of
Weights and Measures", relating to standards of weights
and measures and providing generally for the inspection
of weighing and measuring devices sold and/or used in
the State of Maryland except in the City of Baltimore
and providing penalties for the violation thereof.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 1-31, inclusive, 57A and 65 of Article 97
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939 Edition) as
amended, title "Weights and Measures"; Section 138 of
Article 25 of said Code, title "County Commissioners", sub-
title "Meridian Line" of said Code; Section 203 of Article
27 of said Code, title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-title
"Fraud—Fruit and Vegetable Packing", and they are
hereby repealed and that 37 new sections be and they are
hereby enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as Sections
1-31E, inclusive, and 57A of said Article and to be under
