plement), title "Alcoholic Beverages, " sub-title "Boards
of License Commissioners, " said new sub-section to be
known as Sub-section (a-1) and to follow immediately
after Sub-section (a) of said section, relating to the
appointment of a Board of License Commissioners in
Prince George's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added to Sec-
tion 127 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages, " sub-title
"Boards of License Commissioners, " said new sub-section
to be known as Sub-section (a-1), to follow immediately
after Sub-section (a) of said section, and to read as fol-
lows:

127.

(a-1). (Prince George's County. ) In Prince George's
County, the Governor shall appoint two of the three said
Commissioners from the political party obtaining the high-
est number of votes in the last general election in the
County, and the third Commissioner shall be appointed by
the Governor from the political party obtaining the next
highest number of votes in said County election. Before
making said appointments and before fitting any vacancy
as hereinabove provided, the Governor shall request the
State Central Committees for Prince George's County rep-
resenting each of the two leading political parties of the
State to designate at least four eligible candidates for each
position; and the Governor shall appoint one of the per-
sons so designated unless in his judgment all of said per-
sons shall be unfit or incompetent, in which case he shall
file a written statement to that effect with the Secretary
of State, setting forth such facts and the grounds therefor
and shall call upon the said Committees for Prince George's
County for another list of six names for each position to
be filled, from which list and the original list he shall make
the appointments.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
