THEODORE R. MCKELDIN, GOVERNOR 1751

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-
fifths of all of the members elected to each of the two Houses
of the General Assembly of Maryland, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 575
(House Bill 463)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Sup-
plement), title "Elections", sub-title "Election Officials", as
said section was amended by Chapter 195 of the Acts of
1949, increasing the salary of each Supervisor of Elections
in Charles County. AND HARFORD COUNTIES.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 3 of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Elections", sub-title
"Election Officials", as said section was amended by Chapter
195 of the Acts of 1949, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

3. (A) Each Supervisor of Elections appointed under Sec-
tion 1 (a) or Section 1 (c) of this Article shall receive an
annual salary as follows:

In Allegany County, $900; in Anne Arundel County, $800;
in Baltimore City, $3, 190 until January 1, 1950, and there-
after $5, 000; in Baltimore County, $1, 800; in Calvert County,
$200; in Caroline County, $300; in Carroll County, $400; in
Cecil County, $150 $300; in Charles County, [$125] $250; in
Dorchester County, $200; in Frederick County, $480; in Gar-
rett County, $300; in Harford County, $300; $400; in Howard
County, $400; in Kent County, $400; in Montgomery County,
$900; in Prince George's County, $1, 000; in Queen Anne's
