and List of Debts, " and Section 234 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Baltimore County (1948 Edition), being
Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Baltimore County, " sub-title "Orphans' Court, " re-
lating generally to the appointment of appraisers for testa-
mentary work in Baltimore County and for the compensa-
tion to be paid to such persons.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 215 of Article 93 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Testamentary Law, "
sub-title "Inventory and List of Debts, " and Section 234 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1948
Edition), being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, title "Baltimore County, " sub-title "Orphans'
Court, " be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
215. Said appraisers shall receive such compensation for
the time they are actually engaged in said appraisement as
the Judges of the Orphans' Court shall prescribe, not to ex-
ceed Five Dollars per diem, said compensation to be paid out
of the estate of the decedent after said appraisers have filed
an itemized sworn account of the number of days they were
actually engaged in such appraisement with the Orphans'
Court or Register of Wills, as the case may be, and after said
sworn statement is approved by said court or register of
wills, as the case may be; provided, however, that nothing
contained in this section shall apply to the Orphans' Court
or Register of Wills of the City of Baltimore, [or] Mont-
gomery County or Baltimore County.
234. On granting letters testamentary or of administration
or of collection by the Orphans' Court of Baltimore County,
a warrant or warrants shall issue under the seal of office
authorizing two persons of discretion, [one] both of whom
shall be selected by the court and [the other named by the
executor, administrator or collector, ] neither of whom shall
be related to the deceased nor interested in the administration,
to appraise the goods, chattels and personal estate of the
deceased known to them or to be shown by the executor, ad-
ministrator or collector. One of said persons shall be named
the Appraiser, at an annual salary of five SIX thousand dol-
lars, and the other shall be named the Deputy Appraiser, at an
annual salary of four thousand THREE THOUSAND FIVE
HUNDRED dollars. Such salaries shall be in lieu of any and
all other compensation for their duties as such. THE REG-
ISTER OF WILLS OF BALTIMORE COUNTY IS HEREBY
AUTHORIZED AND DIRECTED TO ENACT A SCHED-
