re-enact, with amendments, Section 139 (h) (7) of Ar-
ticle 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Sup-
plement), title "Alcoholic Beverages, " sub-title "County
Dispensaries, " relating to the advertisement of applica-
tions for licenses in Worcester County and increasing
the compensation of the Liquor Control Board of Wor-
cester County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added to Sec-
tion 48 of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1947 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages, " sub-title
"Procedure for Issue of Licenses, " said new sub-section to
be known as Sub-section (g), to follow immediately after
Sub-section (f) of said section, and that Section 139 (h) (7)
of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947
Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages, " sub-title
"County Dispensaries, " be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, both to read as follows:

48.

(g). Worcester County. In Worcester County, the
notice of every application for a license shall be published
once in each week for two consecutive weeks in at least
one newspaper published in the town in which, or nearest
to which, the applicant's proposed place of business is to be
located.

139.

(h).

(7). Worcester County—[Six Hundred] One Thou-
sand
Dollars per annum, with a mileage fee of five cents
per mile when in attendance upon meetings.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency measure and necessary
for the immediate preservation of the public health and
safety and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, sup-
ported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each
of the two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
