of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1948 Edition),
being Article 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (1930 Edition), title "Baltimore County", said new
section to be known as Section 247A, to follow immediately
after Section 247 thereof, to be included within "Title 19,
Pensions", and to be under the sub-heading "Fire Depart-
ment System", and to read as follows:
247A. In the event a member of any volunteer fire
company of Baltimore County is killed in the active dis-
charge of his duties as a member of such volunteer fire
company or dies as a result of injuries sustained in the
active discharge of such duties, said death occurring after
January 1, 1951, the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County are hereby authorized and directed to pay to his
widow, until her death or remarriage, the sum of $50. 00
per month, and to pay for the support of each infant child
surviving him the sum of $15. 00 per month, to be paid to
the mother, guardian or person actually caring for such
child, until such child reaches the age of eighteen years.
The County Commissioners are directed to levy upon the
assessable property of Baltimore County each year a sum
sufficient to make the payments required hereunder or that
may have accrued accounting from the date of death of
such volunteer fireman.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

(Senate Bill 409)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
section (e) and (i) of Section 38A of Article 25 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title
"County Commissioners, " sub-title "County Treasurers, "
as said section was amended by Chapter 548 of the Acts
of 1949, increasing the compensation of the County
Treasurer of Queen Anne's County.
