EFFECTIVE DATE

221. This charter shall take effect on June 1, 1951.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 225 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico County, "
sub-title "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-heading "County
Treasurer, " as said section was amended by Chapter
676 of the Acts of 1947, relating to the appointment and
compensation of the Deputy County Treasurer and the
employment and compensation of other clerk or clerks.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 225 of Article 23 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Wicomico Coun-
ty, " sub-title "Revenue and Taxes, " sub-heading "County
Treasurer, " as said section was amended by Chapter 676
of the Acts of 1947, be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

225. The Treasurer shall appoint a deputy, who shall
perform such duties as said Treasurer shall require and
for whose official conduct said Treasurer shall be respon-
sible and who in the absence of the Treasurer shall act in
his place. Said deputy shall receive a salary of Twenty
nine Hundred Dollars ($2, 900) [TWO THOUSAND FOUR
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2, 400. 00)] TWENTY-SEVEN
HUNDRED DOLLARS ($2, 700. 00) per annum, payable by
the County Commissioners of Wicomico County in month-
ly installments for every year he or she may serve as such
deputy, or pro rata for a part thereof.
