FOUR THOUSAND DOLLARS ($4, 000. 00) NOR MORE
THAN FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5, 000. 00) PER

ANNUM.

BOND

32. The city register and collector of taxes shall pro-
vide a bond with such corporate surety and in such
amount (but not less than fifty thousand dollars [$50, ~
000. 00]) as the board of aldermen by ordinance may re-
quire.

REMOVAL

33. In the event that the city register and collector of
taxes shall be convicted in the Circuit Court for Frederick
County, or in any other court having jurisdiction, of any
willful neglect of duty, misconduct, misbehavior, or mal-
feasance in office, his office shall be deemed vacant and
shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term as
provided in Section 71 of this charter.

POWERS AND DUTIES

34. Under the supervision of the mayor, the city regis-
ter and collector of taxes shall have authority and shall be
required to:

(a) Maintain a general accounting system for the city
in such form as state law and the board of aldermen may
require.

(b) Submit to the board of aldermen through the mayor
a monthly statement of all receipts and disbursements in
such form as the board of aldermen may require.

(c) Submit at the end of each fiscal year a complete
financial report to the board of aldermen through the
mayor.

(d) Ascertain that all taxable property within the city
is assessed for taxation.

(e) Collect all taxes, special assessments, license fees,
liens, and all other revenues (including water revenues)
of the city, and all other revenues for whose collection the
city is responsible, and receive any funds receivable by
the city.

(f) Have custody of all public moneys, belonging to or
under the control of the city, except as to funds in the con-
trol of any set of trustees, and have custody of all bonds
and notes of the city.
