"For New Charter", and a corresponding square or box
to the right of and opposite the words "Against New
Charter", so that the said voters shall be able to designate
by an X mark in the proper square or box his or her deci-
sion for or against the adoption of said new charter. If a
majority of the votes cast at said election on said question
shall be "For New Charter", then Section 1 of this Act
shall become effective on the 1st day of September, JANU-
ARY, 1952. If a majority of the votes cast in said election
on said question shall be "Against New Charter", then
Section 1 of this Act shall not become effective.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tions 6 and 39 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition and 1947 Supplement), title
"Public Education, " sub-titles "Chapter 2, Formation of
Boards" and "Chapter 4, County Board of Education, "
Section 6 thereof having been amended by Chapter 526
of the Acts of 1949; to add a new section to said Ar-
ticle, said new section to be known as Section 7C, to fol-
low immediately after Section 7B, as said section was
enacted by Chapter 526 of the Acts of 1949 and to be
under the sub-title "Chapter 2, Formation of Boards, "
providing that the County Board of Education for
Charles County shall have five members, specifying the
manner of their appointment and providing that each
member of said Board shall receive compensation at the
rate of $250. 00 annually.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
