and all additions and amendments thereto, the same
comprising the corporate charter of the City of Salis-
bury, and to enact in lieu thereof 172 new sections to
stand in the place and stead of the sections so repealed
and to constitute the municipal charter of the City of
Salisbury, establishing a form of municipal government
and relating generally to the government, powers and
duties of the City of Salisbury and submitting this Act
to a referendum of the voters of said city.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 258 to 342, inclusive, of Article 23 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Salisbury", and all
additions and amendments thereto, be and the same are
hereby repealed and that 172 new sections be and the
same are hereby enacted in lieu thereof to stand in the
place and stead of the sections so repealed and all to read
as follows:

THE CITY OF SALISBURY
ARTICLE I

INCORPORATION AND GENERAL GOVERNMENT

1. Incorporation. The inhabitants of the City of
Salisbury, in Wicomico County, Maryland, are hereby con-
stituted a body corporate by the name of "The City of
Salisbury", and by that name shall have perpetual succes-
sion, sue and be sued, have and use a common seal which
may be altered at pleasure, and have all powers and priv-
ileges incident to or that may attach to a municipal cor-
poration. The repealing of the former Section 258 of
Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland
(1930 Edition), and the enactment of this new section,
shall not be construed as terminating the existence of the
corporation known as "The Mayor and Council of Salis-
bury", and creating a new corporation by the name of
"The City of Salisbury", but shall be construed as con-
tinuing the existence of the corporation known as "The
Mayor and Council of Salisbury", and changing its name
to that of "The City of Salisbury".

2. Corporate Limits. The taxable corporate limits of
the city shall begin at a large marked pine situated on the
east bank of the Wicomico River between the properties
of Juanita E. R. Merryman and Anita Downes Ward,
thence south 43 degrees and 30 minutes east 513. 2 feet to
an iron pipe located in the center of Riverside Road, thence
