re-enact, with amendments, Sections 33, 34, 37-40, 42, 44A
and 49 of said Article 43, sub-title "Miscellaneous Pro-
visions", to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
80 of said Article 43, sub-title "Infectious Diseases", to re-
peal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 85 and 86 of
said Article 43, sub-title "Midwives", to repeal and re-enact,
with amendments, Sections 174 and 198 of said Article 43,
sub-title "Adulteration of Food and Drink", to repeal and
re-enact, with amendments, Section 496L of said Article 43,
sub-title "Hospitals", to repeal Section 12 of said Article 43,
sub-title "State Board of Health", to repeal Sections 35 and
41 of said Article 43, sub-title "Miscellaneous Provisions",
and to repeal Section 196 of said Article, sub-title "Adulter-
ation of Food and Drink", revising generally the laws relat-
ing to the State Department of Health and to public health
in this State.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 29 of Article 19A of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Conservation of Natural
Resources", sub-title "Water Pollution Control Commission77,
Section 1 of Article 22 of said Code, title "Post Mortem
Examiners", Sections 33, 34, 37-40, 42, 44A and 49 of said
Article, sub-title "Miscellaneous Provisions", Section 80 of
said Article, sub-title "Infectious Diseases", Sections 85 and
86 of said Article, sub-title "Midwives", Sections 174 and 198
of said Article 43, sub-title "Adulteration of Food and Drink",
Section 496L of said Article, sub-title "Hospitals", be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
ARTICLE 19A
29. (a) There is hereby created a Maryland Water Pollu-
tion Control Commission, hereinafter referred to as the "Com-
mission", which shall be composed of seven members, citizens
and residents of the State as follows: [The Director of the
State Department of Health] A representative of the State
Department of Health selected "by the Board of Health, the
chairman of the Board of Natural Resources, the State Game
Warden, the Director of the Department of Research and
Education and three members to be appointed by the Gover-
nor. The Governor shall designate one member among the
appointed members to serve as Chairman of the Commission.
The term of each appointed member shall be six years; pro-
vided, however, that the first three appointees shall hold
office as follows: one for a period of two years, one for a
period of four years and one for a period of six years. The
