AN ACT to add a new section to the Charter and Public Local
Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edition, being Article 4 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore
City", said new section to be known as Section 593A, to
follow immediately after Section 593 thereof, and to be under
the sub-title "Police Commissioner", providing that any
member of the Police Department of Baltimore City, who
formerly was a member of the Special Fund therein and as
of June 1, 1951, is a member of the Employees' Retirement
System of the City of Baltimore shall be privileged to re-
establish eligibility in the said Special Fund under certain
conditions.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to the
Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949 Edi-
tion, being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Baltimore City", Said new section to be known as
Section 593A, to follow immediately after Section 593 thereof,
and to be under the sub-title "Police Commissioner", and to
read as follows:
593A. Any member of the Police Department of Baltimore
City who was a member of the Special Fund of said Depart-
ment prior to January 1, 1947, and who as of June 1, 1951, was
a member of the Employees' Retirement System of the City of
Baltimore shall have the privilege of re-establishing eligibility
in the said Special Fund. In such event he shall receive credit
in the said Special Fund for all service rendered to the Police
Department. Contributions which he has made to the said
Employees' Retirement System, plus the interest thereon, shall
be withdrawn therefrom and be deposited in the said Special
Fund.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
