words "For Fire Tax", and a corresponding square or box to
the right of and opposite the words "Against Fire Tax", so
that the voters shall be able to designate by a crossmark in the
proper square or box his or her decision for or against said fire
tax. If a majority of the votes cast in the said election district
shall be "For Fire Tax", then said tax shall be levied against
all properties subject to taxation in the unincorporated areas
of said precincts in said election district and paid over in ac-
cordance with the provisions of this Act, but if a majority of
the votes cast shall be "Against Fire Tax", then this Act shall
be of no effect and shall be null and void in that particular
election district.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section
100 (Montgomery County) of Article 52 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Justices of
the Peace, " sub-title "Trial Magistrate System, " increasing
the salary of the Trial Magistrates of Montgomery County,
removing certain unnecessary language from said sub-section
concerning substitute Trial Magistrates and Deputy Sheriffs
and clarifying the provisions of said sub-section.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section 100 (Montgomery County) of Article 52
of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title
"Justices of the Peace, " sub-title "Trial Magistrate System, "
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:
100. (Montgomery County. ) There shall be three Trial
Magistrates each of whom shall receive an annual salary of
[$3, 000. 00] $3, 600. 00. One of said Magistrates shall be desig-
nated as Trial Magistrate at Rockville and shall sit at Rock-
