of said Article and Code, to be known as Sub-section (i) and
to follow immediately after Sub-section (h) of said section,
as amended by Chapter 170 of the Acts of 1949, adding the
fourth and fifth Precincts of the 17th Election District and
certain fire companies to said Act and providing for a
referendum thereon.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 605A(a) and (b) of the Prince George's
County Code (1943 Edition), being Article 17 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Prince George's
County", sub-title "Fire Companies", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and that one new
sub-section be and it is hereby added to Section 605B of said
Article and Code, to be known as Sub-section (i), to follow
immediately after Sub-section (h) of said section, as amended
by Chapter 170 of the Acts of 1949, and all to read as follows:
605A. (a). The provisions of this section shall apply to
and be effective in the following election districts of Prince
George's County: 6th, 12th, 18th, 20th, 2nd, 9th, 21st, [and]
1st and the 4th and 5th Precincts of the 17th.
(b) The County Commissioners of Prince George's County
are hereby authorized and directed to levy for the year [1951]
1952 and annually thereafter a fire tax of ten cents on every
One Hundred Dollars ($100. 00) of the assessed value of all
real and personal property located in each of said election
districts.
605B.
(i). In the 4th and 5th Precincts of the 17th Election District
the proceeds of said taw shall be divided and paid by the
County Commissioners every six months to the following In-
corporated Municipalities in the following proportions: (1)
City of Mt. Rainier—25 per cent, (2) Town of Brentwood—
25 per cent, (3) City of Takoma Park—25 per cent, (4) City of
Hyattsville—10 per cent, (5) City of College Park—10 per
cent, (6) Town of Riverdale—5 per cent.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That before any tax shall
be levied under the provisions of this Act, the question of such
levy shall first be submitted to the legally qualified voters of
the 4th and 5th Precincts of the 17th Election District of
Prince George's County at a special election to be held by the
County Commissioners within six months after the passage of
this Act. There shall be printed on the ballot to be used at said
election the title of this Act and underneath said title, on
separate lines, a square or box to the right of and opposite the
