SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 474
(Senate Bill 459)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-
section 37B (t) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Sheriffs", sub-title
"Compensation and Duties", relating to the appointment
and compensation of Deputy Sheriffs in Talbot County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-section 37B (t) of Article 87 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Sheriffs",
sub-title "Compensation and Duties", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

37B.

(t) In Talbot County the Sheriff shall receive an annual
salary of $1, 800. He may appoint, subject to the approval
of the County Commissioners of the County, [a deputy
who shall receive an annual salary of $1, 200. ] Such depu-
ties as he may deem necessary and at such compensation
as he may fix,
SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY, but the
compensation of all such deputies shall not exceed,
IN
THE AGGREGATE, Four Thousand ($4, 000. 00) per
annum.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.
