1292 LAWS OF MARYLAND [CH. 463

Section 410, to be known as Sections 410A to 410V,
inclusive, and to be under the new sub-title "Water
and/or Sewer Authorities"; providing for the incorpo-
ration as bodies corporate and politic of "Authorities";
prescribing the rights, powers and duties of such author-
ities; authorizing such Authorities to acquire, hold, con-
struct, reconstruct, extend, repair, improve, maintain,
operate, own and lease, either as lessor or lessee, water
systems and sewerage systems; authorizing the issuance
of revenue bonds of such Authorities, payable solely
from revenues, to pay the cost of such system or sys-
tems;, EXCEPT THAT IN DORCHESTER COUNTY
THE ISSUE OF ANY SUCH BONDS SHALL BE
SUBJECT TO A REFERENDUM WITHIN THE GEO-
GRAPHICAL LIMITS OF THE SAID AUTHORITY;
providing for the imposition and collection of rates,
fees and charges for the use of and for the serv-
ices furnished by the systems of such Authorities and
for the application of such revenues; making such rates,
fees and charges liens and providing for the recording
thereof; requiring counties, municipalities, districts and
political subdivisions to supply the Authorities lists of
water meter readings and water bills; requiring political
subdivisions, private corporations and others engaged
in supplying water to shut off the supply of water for
non-payment of sewer charges imposed by Authorities;
providing for the execution of trust agreements to secure
the payment of such bonds without conveying or mort-
gaging such systems; authorizing the issuance of rev-
enue refunding bonds; exempting such systems, such
revenue bonds, and the income therefrom from taxa-
tion; authorizing counties, municipalities, sanitary dis-
tricts and other political subdivisions to contract with
and advance money to Authorities and to transfer or
lease to such Authorities existing facilities.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That twenty-two new sections be and they are hereby added
to Article 43 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1939
Edition), said new sections to be under the new sub-title
"Water and/or Sewer Authorities", to be known as Sec-
tions 410A to 410V, inclusive, to follow immediately after
Section 410 of said Article, and to read as follows:

WATER AND/OR SEWER AUTHORITIES

410A. The following terms whenever used or referred
to in this sub-title shall have the following meanings,
except in those instances where the context clearly indi-
cates otherwise:
