AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section
(b) of Section 37B of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1947 Supplement), as the same was enacted by
Chapter 769 of the Acts of 1949 of the General Assembly of
Maryland, title "Sheriffs", sub-title "Compensation and
Duties", relating to the salary of the Sheriff of Anne Arundel
County, his allowance for deputies and clerks and for ex-
penses.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sub-section (b) of Section 37B of Article 87 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1947 Supplement), as the same
was enacted by Chapter 769 of the Acts of 1949 of the General
Assembly of Maryland, title "Sheriffs'', sub-title "Compensa-
tion and Duties", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
37B.
(b) The Sheriff of Anne Arundel County shall receive an
annual salary of $3, 000. He shall be allowed [$7, 300] $12. 000
per year for deputies and clerical assistance commencing from
June 1, 1951. In addition thereto the Sheriff shall receive an
allowance for expenses in the sum of [$100 per month account-
ing from January 1, 1949] $2, 000 per annum in monthly in-
stallments, accounting from June 1, 1951. Commencing with
the beginning of the next term of office, the Sheriff of Anne
Arundel County shall receive an annual salary of $5, 000 AND
NO OTHER COMPENSATION.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect June 1, 1951.
