Edition), title "Baltimore City, " sub-title "Criers, Bailiffs,
Watchmen and Stenographers, " designating two of the
Bailiffs as Jury Commissioner and Deputy Jury Commis-
sioner, respectively, relating to their compensation and the
compensation of the Bailiffs, and providing that persons
appointed to any of said positions after January 1, 1952,
shall become members of the Employee's Retirement System
of Baltimore.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land,
That Section 295 of the Baltimore City Charter and Pub-
lic Local Laws (1949 Edition), title "Baltimore City, " sub-title
"Criers, Bailiffs, Watchmen and Stenographers, " be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

295. (a) The Treasurer of Baltimore City shall pay to the
Bailiffs respectively of the Superior Court of Baltimore City,
of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore City, of the Balti-
more City Court, of the Circuit Court of Baltimore City, of
the Circuit Court No. 2 of Baltimore City, and of the Criminal
Court of Baltimore City the sum of not less [than Three
Thousand Eighty Dollars nor more] than Three Thousand
Eight Hundred and Fifty Dollars THREE THOUSAND
FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS nor more than Four Thousand
Five Hundred Dollars ($4, 500. 00)
FOUR THOUSAND TWO
HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS ($4, 250. 00) per annum, and
to the Bailiff assigned to the Jury Judge and designated as
Jury Commissioner,
a sum not less [than Three Thousand and
Seven Hundred and Forty Dollars nor more] than Four Thou-
sand Four Hundred Dollars nor more than Six FIVE Thou-
sand Dollars ($5, 000. 00)
per annum, and the Bailiff assigned
as Jury Bailiff and designated as Deputy Jury Commissioner
a sum not less than Three Thousand Eight Hundred and Fifty
Dollars ($3, 850. 00) nor more than Five Thousand
FOUR
THOUSAND Five Hundred Dollars ($4, 500. 00) per annum,
as determined and certified to by the Supreme Bench of
Baltimore City as and for their respective salaries at the
same time and in the same manner as is provided in the
preceding section for the payment of the salaries of the Crier
of the Superior Court, the Crier of the Baltimore City Court,
and the Crier of the Court of Common Pleas of Baltimore
City. Every Bailiff, who after having served not less than
twenty preceding consecutive years or shall have become
physically or mentally incapacitated from performing
the duties of Bailiff from ailments or accidents not resulting
from any own misconduct, shall be entitled to retirement with
a salary of Fifteen Hundred Dollars per annum, payable as
other Bailiff's salaries are now paid, provided that such retire-
