"Compensation and Duties, " authorizing the County
Commissioners of Worcester County to allow an expense
account to each deputy sheriff of said County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37B (w) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1947 Supplement), title "Sheriffs, " sub-title
"Compensation and Duties, " be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

37B.

(w). The Sheriff of Worcester County shall receive an
annual salary of $2, 400. He shall appoint two deputies who
shall each receive an annual salary of $1, 800. He shall be
allowed $1, 000 per year for expenses. The County Commis-
sioners of Worcester County shall have the power to grant
an expense allowance of not more than Fifty Dollars
($50. 00) per month for each deputy sheriff.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect June 1, 1951.

CHAPTER 355
(Senate Bill 477)

AN ACT to authorize and direct the Board of County Com-
missioners of Prince George's County to relinquish to
the citizens of Avondale Grove all the rights, title and
interest of the county in and to a certain parcel of
vacant land in said community acquired by said county
under a sale for delinquent taxes, subject to the condi-
tion that said land is to be used exclusively as a public
park for the benefit of the citizens of said community and
that the upkeep thereof will be perpetually maintained
by the residents of said community without expense to
the county.

WHEREAS, a certain parcel of vacant land in Avondale
Grove, identified as Block 7, on the plat of said subdivision
approved by the Maryland national Capital Park and Plan-
ning Commission, September 25, 1940, was left vacant by
the developers of said subdivision and was believed by the
