longer necessary in Carroll County or any part thereof
and that Federal Rent Control shall terminate on compli-
ance with the provisions of Section 1894 (j) (2), Title 50
Appendix, of the United States Code Annotated.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the Secretary
of State of Maryland shall send a copy of this Act, imme-
diately upon its approval by the Governor, to the Housing
Expediter of Maryland.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act is here-
by declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public health and safety, and
having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported by
three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the two
Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 352
(Senate Bill 463)

AN ACT to authorize the Burgess and Commissioners of
Walkersville in Frederick County to borrow not ex-
exceeding $50, 000 on the faith and credit of said town
and to issue bonds therefor for the purpose of purchas-
ing all the properties, real and personal, all rights-of-
way of the Walkersville Water Company, a private cor-
poration, and providing for a referendum thereon.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Burgess and Commissioners of Walkersville be
and it is hereby authorized to borrow on the faith and
credit of said town an amount not to exceed Fifty Thou-
sand Dollars ($50, 000. 00) and from time to time to issue
and sell serial coupon bonds therefor, said bonds to be
signed by the Burgess and countersigned by the Commis-
missioners and with the seal of said town affixed thereto.
