ring and Wrestling", relating to the payment of license
fees for the conduct of boxing, sparring and wrestling
matches and exhibitions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 117 of Article 56 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1939 Edition), title "Licenses", sub-title "Box-
ing, Sparring and Wrestling", be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

117. Every person, club, corporation or association
which may hold or exercise any of the privileges conferred
by this sub-title shall, within twenty-four hours after the
determination of every contest, furnish to the Commission
a written report, under oath, showing the exact number
of tickets sold for such contest and the amount of gross
proceeds thereof, and such other matters as the Commis-
sion may prescribe, and shall also within the said time
pay to the said Commission a license fee of ten per centum
(10%) of its total gross receipts from the sale of tickets
of admission and the sale of radio, television or motion
picture rights
to such boxing or sparring or wrestling
match, contest or exhibition, which license fees shall be
paid to said Commission; provided that the Amateur
Athletic Union and the Young Men's Christian Associa-
tion shall be exempted from payment of any license fee
in connection with any amateur boxing, sparring or
wrestling matches held under the auspices or sanction of
either of the said organizations, but shall be subject to
all the other provisions of this sub-title, and to such rules
and regulations as have been or shall be adopted by the
said Commission; and provided further that in Allegany
County duly constituted posts of the Veterans of Foreign
Wars or of the American Legion and every organization
of the Maryland National (or State) Guard may conduct
boxing, sparring or wrestling match, contest or exhibition
held under the auspices or sanction of any of said posts
or organizations, but shall be subject to pay to the said
Commission a license fee of five per cent, of its total gross
receipts from the sale of tickets of admission and the sale
of radio, television or motion picture rights
to such box-
ing, sparring or wrestling match, contest or exhibition,
and shall also be subject to all the other provisions of this
sub-title, and to such reasonable rules and regulations as
have been or shall be adopted by the said Commission;
and provided, further, that the Athletic Director of the
University of Maryland shall, on the written request of
any organization of veterans or volunteer firemen or of
