(House Joint Resolution 2)

Resolution extending the time for the study of Federal,
State and local taxes to be made by the Commission on
Administrative Organization of the State.

Whereas, the General Assembly of 1951 in Joint Resolu-
tion No. 16 recommended that a commission be appointed
by the Governor to study the questions raised by and to
report on the pyramiding of Federal, State and local taxes;
and

Whereas, pursuant to this request, the Governor of
Maryland assigned this study to the Commission on Ad-
ministrative Organization of the State, more familiarly
known as the Sobeloff Commission; and

Whereas, the Sobeloff Commission has inaugurated such
a study and has made some progress on it in order to report
to the General Assembly; and

Whereas, it is desirable to grant additional time for
the completion of this study; now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Commission on Administrative Organization of the
State, better known as the Sobeloff Commission, be re-
quested to complete its study on the pyramiding of Federal,
State and local taxes; and be it further

Resolved, That the said Commission be requested to sub-
mit the results of such study together with any recom-
mendations it may care to make to the Governor and the
General Assembly of Maryland on or before October 1,
1952.
