252           Laws of Maryland          [Ch. 32

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 of Chapter 622 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of 1951 be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

1. That in order to provide an incentive for the em-
ployees of the Chesapeake Bay Ferry System to remain
in the employ of said system until the termination thereof
and thereby insure the proper operation and maintenance
of said system until the Chesapeake Bay Bridge is com-
pleted and opened to traffic, the State Roads Commission
is hereby authorized to increase the salaries of all em-
ployees on said system during the last six months of serv-
ice, and pay same from the revenues of said ferry system,
in an amount equal to the schedule set forth below:

[To all employees who have been employed by said Sys-
tem for one year or more but less than ten years a sum
equal to two months salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said Sys-
tem for ten years or more but less than fifteen years a sum
equal to three months salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said Sys-
tem for fifteen years or more but less than twenty years
a sum equal to four months salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said Sys-
tem for twenty years or more but less than thirty years
a sum equal to five months salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said Sys-
tem for thirty years or more a sum equal to six months
salary.]

To all employees who have been employed by said System
for 12 months but less than 15 months, a sum equal to
NOT TO EXCEED 5 weeks salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said System
for 15 months but less than 21 months, a sum equal to
NOT TO EXCEED 6 weeks salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said System
for 21 months but less than 27 months, a sum equal to

NOT TO EXCEED 7 weeks salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said System
for 27 months but less than 33 months, a sum equal to
NOT TO EXCEED 8 weeks salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said System
for 33 months but less than 39 months, a sum equal to
NOT TO EXCEED 9 weeks salary.

To all employees who have been employed by said System
for 39 months but less than 45 months, a sum equal to
NOT TO EXCEED 10 weeks salary.
