(11) Notwithstanding any provision of this section
to the contrary, in Prince George's County the registration
date preceding the Primary Election shall be on the Tues-
day four weeks preceding the Primary Election date.

SEC. 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, THAT
THIS ACT IS HEREBY DECLARED TO BE AN EMER-
GENCY AND NECESSARY FOR THE IMMEDIATE
PRESERVATION OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND
SAFETY AND HAVING BEEN PASSED BY A YEA
AND NAY VOTE, SUPPORTED BY THREE-FIFTHS
OF ALL OF THE MEMBERS ELECTED TO EACH OF
THE TWO HOUSES OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY,
THE SAME SHALL TAKE EFFECT FROM THE DATE
OF ITS PASSAGE.

CHAPTER 14
(House Bill 26)

AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 240 of Article
77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition—
being Section 235 of the 1947 Supplement, title "Public
Education," sub-title "University of Maryland," said new
sub-section to be known as Sub-section (d), to follow
immediately after Sub-section (c) of said section, re-
lating to the functions, powers and duties of the Board
of Regents of the University of Maryland.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland,
That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added
to Section 240 of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition—being Section 235 of the 1947
Supplement), title "Public Education," sub-title "Univer-
sity of Maryland," said new sub-section to be known as
Sub-section (d), to follow immediately after Sub-section
(c) of said section, and to read as follows:
