1837.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Baltimore county court, sitting as a court of

equity, are hereby authorised and required to ratify
and confirm the proceedings, return, and partition made
and returned by the said commissioners of the real
estate of the said John Murray between his heirs at
law and the allotment of dower of the widow of the
said John Murry, in the case now pending in the said
court, wherein Sarah Murray, William Chenowith and
Kiturah, his wife, Samuel Kerlinger and Eliza, his
wife, John B. Chenowith and Sarah, his wife, James
Benson and Susanna, his wife, Christian Abey and
Diana, his wife, and Elizabeth Ann Murray, are com-
plainants, and Thomas B. Murray, Rebecca Murray,
Harriet Murray, Isabella Jane Murray, John Wesley
Murray and Joshua Summerfield Murray, are defend-
ants: and the said court or any one of the judges there-
of are hereby authorised and directed to pass a decree
for the partition and confirmation aforesaid.

An act to make valid a certain instrument of writing
therein named and for other purposes.

1838.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the deed or instrument of writing from
Richard Ringgold, of Kent county, to a certain Rich-
ard W. Ringgold, of the same county, as trustee for
the benefit of the creditors of the said Richard Ring-
gold, and bearing date on or about the sixteenth day of
September in the year eighteen hundred and thirty-six,
in the certificate of acknowledgment to which said
deed, the identity of the said Richard Ringgold as the
grantor was omitted, be, and the same is hereby de-
clared to be valid and effectual in law, to all intents
and purposes, as if the said deed had been executed,
acknowledged and certified according to law.

Deed conferred.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the judges of Kent
county court be, and they are hereby authorised and
required to grant unto the said Richard Ringgold, up-
on the petition accompanying the said deed, a discharge
