RESOLUTIONS.

is authorised and directed to Jay out in the purchase of
law books and other works for the use of the State Li-
brary.

No. 50.

Passed Mar. 27,
1838.

Resolution in favour of Battle Creek Academy.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
instead of the sum of five hundred dollars heretofore
payable out of the Treasury of this State, yearly, as a
donation to Lower Marlborough Academy, in Calvert
county, the Treasurer of the Western Shore shall here-
after pay to or for the use of said academy, annually,
the sum of two hundred and sixty-seven dollars and no
more; and that instead of the sum of three hundred
dollars heretofore payable yearly as aforesaid, as a do-
nation to Prince Frederick Academy, in the county
aforesaid, the said treasurer shall hereafter pay to, or
for the use of said academy, annually, the sum of two
hundred and sixty-seven dollars, and no more, and
that the said treasurer is hereby directed to pay to or
for the use of Battle Creek Academy, in said county,
as a donation to said institution, the sum of two hun-
dred and sixty-six dollars, annually hereafter; provided
that no academy above mentioned shall be entitled to
receive the donation directed to be paid to the same,
until the president and trustees thereof shall have
made their annual report to the Treasurer in the man-
ner and form required by law.

Resolution in favour of Rev. Mr. McElhiney and Rev.
Mr. Vinton.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is here-
by authorised to pay to the Reverend Mr. McElhiney,
of the Senate, and the Reverend Mr. Vinton, chaplain
of the House of Delegates, or to their orders, respect-
ively, the sum of one hundred dollars each, as com-
pensation for their services during the present session.
