CHAPTER 39.

CHAP. 40.

An act to alter and change the division line between the
fourth and fifth election districts of Allegany county.

Passed Feb. 9,
1838.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the division line between the fourth
and fifth election districts of Allegany county, shall,
from and after the passage of this act, run from the
head of Jackson's Run, near the top of Dan's Mountain,
to the mouth thereof, thence with George's Creek to
the mouth of Ayer's Run, thence, with said last men-
tioned run to the head thereof, on Savage Mountain.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the inhabitants re-

siding between the line as it at present exists, and the
line intended to be established by this law, shall, from
and after the passage of this act, be, to all intents and
purposes, citizens of the fifth election district of Alle-
gany county, any other provisions existing heretofore
to the contrary notwithstanding.

CHAPTER 40.

Residents.

An act to lay out and open a new Road in Cecil County.

Passed Feb. 9,
1838.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Henry H. Gilpin, Henry D. Millar
and Jacob Ash, be, and the same are hereby appointed
commissioners to survey, lay out and open a road, not

exceeding thirty-feet in width, commencing at some
point on the road leading from Elkton to Cowantown,
on the best and most practicable route, to intersect the
road leading from Elkton to Glascow, near the house

shall be thereafter deemed to be a public road forever,
and shall be kept in repair in the same manner as
other public roads arc directed to be kept up in said
county.
