CHAP. 348

CHAPTER 347.

Passed Mar. 23,
1838.

An act for the relief of Margaret Mitchell Dickehut, of
the City of Baltimore.

Divorce.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Margaret Mitchell Dickehut, of the
city of Baltimore, be, and she is hereby divorced, a
vinculo matrimonii, from her husband, Henry F. Dic-
kehut.

Liabilities an-
nulled.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Margaret
Mitchell Dickehut shall have and exercise all the
rights, privileges and immunities, and be subject to
all the legal responsibilities of a feme sole, in the
same way and manner she would have been had she
never been married.

Guardianship

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, Thai the aforesaid Mar-
garet Mitchell Dickehut be, and the is hereby declared
to be entitled to the custody and guardianship of her
child, Margaret Lyford Dickehut,during her minority.

Name changed

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Margaret
Mitchell Dickehut be, and she is hereby authorised to
take the name of Margaret Mitchell Lyford, and the
said Margaret Lyford Dickehut be authorised to take
the name of Margaret Lyford.

CHAPTER 348.

Passed Mar. 24,
1838.

An act for the relief of John Leatherbury, Collector of

Somerset County.

Authorised to
collect.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That John Leatherbury, collector for the year eighteen
hundred and thirty-six, of Somerset county, be, and
he is hereby authorised and empowered to collect and
receive all and any balance or amount of officers' fees,
chancery taxes, fines, forfeitures and county taxes,
which may be due to the said Leatherbury, in the
same manner, and with the same effect, power and pri-
vileges as were allowed by law to said Leatherbury,
in the same manner, and to the same effect, as if the
term of office of the said Leatherbury, as collector
