CHAPTER 322.

1838.

An act to divorce Elizabeth Williams, of Worcester
County, from her husband, Thomas N. Williams.
|
|
|
Divorce.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Elizabeth Williams be, and is hereby
divorced from her husband, Thomas N. Williams, a
vinculo matrimonii.
|
|
|
Claims barred.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all the estate of the
said Elizabeth, both real and personal, of which she
was possessed at the time of her marriage, or which
she may have derived by gift, descent or devise, since
her marriage as aforesaid, be, and the same is hereby
secured to her own exclusive benefit, and the said es-
tate to be entirely free and discharged from any claim
or demand on the part of her husband, the said Thom-
as N. Williams.

Guardianship.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Elizabeth
shall have the guardianship of her children.
CHAPTER 325.

An act to authorise James M. Selden, of Baltimore
County, to bring into this State the several Slaves
therein named.
|
|
|
Permission
granted.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall and may be lawful for James M. Selden,of
Baltimore county, to bring into this State, from the
State of Virginia, the following named slaves for life,
to wit: Nelson and his wife. Nancy, aged about thirty-
five years, and Joe, aged about twenty-two; provided,
that the said James M. Selden shall, in all respects,
comply with the provisions of the act, entitled, a fur-
ther supplement to an act, entitled, an act relating to
tree negroes and slaves, passed at December session
