CHAPTER 293.

CHAP. 276.

An act for the benefit of Ann Ennalls Harris, wife of
William T. Harris.

Passed Mar. 29,
1838.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Daniel Cox Hopper Emory, be, and he is hereby
constituted trustee of Ann Ennalls Harris, and suc-
ces5or of Cornelius Howard, who declines to act un-
der the will of Mary Ward, mother of the said Ann;
and that so soon as he shall have executed and deliver-
ed for record to the clerk of Dorchester county court,
a bond to the State of Maryland, conditioned for the
faithful performance of his duties as said trustee, un-
der such penalty, in such form and with such security
as, with the assent of the said Ann and her husband,
either of the judges of the second judicial district of
this State shall approve, the said Daniel may and shall
have and exercise, as trustee aforesaid, all the autho-
rity, rights and powers, and shall perform all the acts
and duties which the said Cornelius might, could or
ought to have exercised or performed as trustee under
the said will for the benefit of the said Ann, her chil-
dren and heirs, if he had accepted the trust which the
said will conferred on him.

CHAPTER 294.

In relation to
Trusteeship.

An act to increase the allowance to the Sheriff of Wash-
ington County for keeping Debtors in Jail.

Passed Mar. 29,
1838.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall
and may be lawful for the sheriff of Washington coun-
ty to ask, demand and receive one dollar and seventy-
five cents per week for each and every debtor commit-
ted to the jail of Washington county, for the time
they may remain in said jail, to be paid according to
the provisions of an art entitled an act to provide for
the support and maintenance of debtors already confined
in prison, passed at December session eighteen hundred
and twenty chapter one hundred eighty-six.

$1 75 per week.
