CHAP. 276.

ably reduced: and whereas, by an act passed at De-
cember session eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter
two hundred and eighty-one, and a supplement thereto,
passed at December session eighteen hundred and
thirty-three, chapter one hundred and sixty-two, the
commissioners of Baltimore county were required to
levy upon the assessable property of said county, with-
out the limits of the city of Baltimore, one thousand
two hundred and ninety-seven dollars and eighty-six
cents, to carry into effect the, provisions of the act,
entitled, an act relating to the people of colour in this
State, to which this is a further supplement, and it
being just and right that the tax levied upon Baltimore
county, without the limits of the city of Baltimore, for
the purposes aforesaid, should be reduced in proportion
to the reduction of the assessable property of the coun-
ty by the erection of Carroll county, as aforesaid: —
Therefore,

Levy $1075 an-
nually.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Baltimore county shall an-
nually hereafter, levy upon the assessable property of
said county, without the limits of the city of Baltimore,
and cause to be collected, the sum of one thousand and
seventy-five dollars, and no more, for the purpose of
carrying into effect the provisions of an act, entitled,
an act relating to the people of colour in this State,
passed at December session eighteen hundred and
thirty-one, chapter two hundred and eighty-one, to

missioners are hereby required to pay, or cause to be
paid annually hereafter, to the Treasurer of the West-
ern Shore, the sum hereinbefore mentioned, and no
more, for the purposes aforesaid; any other law to the
contrary notwithstanding.
