LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 203.

Nathan Richardson's ship yard, and in the part of said
yard adjoining Skinner Richardson's garden, and
from thence running and binding with said Skinner
Richardson's garden to the road guaranteed by Charles
Pitt and Rose Ann Pitt, to Nathan Richardson and
others, thence with the same to the road owned by
Skinner Richardson, thence with said Skinner Rich-
ardson's road to the road leading from the White Stone
to Noah Dixon's landing, thence with said road to the
county road leading to Cambridge, and the said com-

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the expenses of sur-
veying and opening said road shall be paid by said
county, and the levy court are hereby authorised and
required on receiving from the commissioners an ac-
count, on oath, of the said expenses, including an al-
lowance of two dollars per day to the commissioners for

perty of said county, to he collected as other county
charges are now collected.

mages.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the commissioners,
or a majority of them, shall value and ascertain the
damages sustained by any person or persons through
whose lands the said road may be made to pass, taking
into consideration the advantages and disadvantages,
if any, and the damages so ascertained shall be levied
and assessed as other county charges are, and paid
over to the person or persons so ascertained to have
sustained damages.

Oath required.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners before they proceed to act, shall take an oath
or affirmation before some justice of the peace that they
will without favor, partiality or prejudice, assess the
damages sustained by the persons through whose lands
the said road may pass.

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That if any of the above
commissioners shall resign, or refuse to act, or a va-
