An act to Divorce Elizabeth Ann White, of the city of
Baltimore, from her husband Bennet A. White.

1838.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Elizabeth Ann White, of the city of Baltimore,
be, and she is hereby declared to be divorced from her
husband Bennet A. White, a vinculo matrimonii.

CHAPTER 153.

Divorce.

An act for the benefit of James H. Dorsey, of Harford
County

Passed Mar. 14,
1838.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly, by the petition of James II. Dorsey, of Har-
ford county, that he has been subjected to great trouble
and expense in the necessary care and support of the
late Samuel Swart, of the said county, who died at
his house, and that he is unable to bear the loss thereby
sustained, and claims to be remunerated by the public;
which application has been recommended by a number
of citizens of the said county, and the same being
reasonable: — Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That if the commissioners of Harford county shall be
satisfied that the said James H. Dorsey ought to be
remunerated for the care and expense bestowed by him
on Samuel Swart, during his late illness, and in his

may ascertain.

burial, they be and are hereby empowered and directed
to allow and pay over to the said James H. Dorsey, or
his order, such amount as they may deem him entitled
to receive, for the care and expense aforesaid, from
any unappropriated money in their hands, and in case
such amount should not be in their hands, to cause the
same to be levied, collected and paid over as other
county charges are levied, collected and paid.
