CHAP. 17.

directed, they shall give public notice to all persons
concerned, by not less than three advertisements, set up
at the most public places in said town, and take an oath
that they will perform the duties by this act direc-
ted, justly and fairly, and without being governed
by partiality or prejudice,

Assess damages.
|
SEC. S. And be it enacted, That if in the opinion of
the said commissioners or a majority of them, the con-
venience of the citizens of said town would be promo-
ted by opening of the said Alley, that then they shall a-
ward what damages, if any, the owners of the ground
through which the said Alley shall pass, may sustain
by opening the same, upon a view of all the advan-
tages and disadvantages to all parties concerned, to
the said owners, which damages shall be paid by Mi-
chael Barnitz the applicant for said Alley.

Compensation.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the said Michael
Barnitz shall pay to the said commissioners, a rea-
sonable sum, not exceeding two dollars each, for their
services.

An act to divorce Elijah Brittingham of Worcester coun-
ty, from his wife Julian Brittingham.
|

Divorce.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the marriage heretofore solemnized between
Elijah Brittingham, of Worcester county, and Julian
Brittingham, be, and the same is hereby declared null
and void, and that the said Elijah Brittingham and
Julian Brittingham, be and they are hereby divorced,
a vinculo matrimonii.
