An act to provide for the rebuilding a certain Bridge

therein mentioned.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly, by petition, that it would tend greatly to
the accommodation and convenience of the inhabitants
of Prince George's and Anne Arundel counties, and to
the public generally, if the bridge over the Patuxent
river, called and known by the name of Belmear's
Bridge, was rebuilt: — Therefore,

ed.

SUCTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of Prince
George's county, and the commissioners of Anne Ar-
undel county, are hereby authorised and required,
each, to assess and levy a sum of money not exceeding
two hundred dollars, on the assessable property in their
respective counties, at the time of laying their next
county rates, together with the commission for collect-
ing the same, which said assessment shall be made,
levied and collected, and paid to the commissioners ap-
pointed by this act, or to their order, as soon as the
same shall become payable by law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the following per-
sons are appointed commissioners for rebuilding said
bridge, known as Belmear's Bridge, to wit: on the part
of Prince George's county, Walter Bowie and Benja-
min Ogle, senior, and on the part of Anne Arundel
county, Caleb White and Basil D. Hall, and the said
commissioners, or a majority of them, are authorised
and empowered as soon as may be convenient, to cause
the said bridge to be rebuilt at the present scite of the
said bridge, of sound and good materials, and complet-
ed in the best and most substantial manner, and they,
or a majority of them, are by this act fully authorised
and empowered to agree with a contractor or contrac-
tors for rebuilding said bridge, which shall be rebuilt
