CHAPTER 95.

Passed Feb. 13,
1838.

An act to authorise the commissioners of Baltimore
county, to build a bridge over the great Falls of
Gunpowder, where the county road, leading from
Middletown to the falls road, crosses said falls in
Baltimore county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be lawful for the commission-
ers of Baltimore county, to levy upon the assessable
property of said county, within eighteen months from
the passage of this act, four hundred dollars, for the

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commissioners
of said county, shall not advance any part or portion
of the sum appropriated, until the completion of said

county, to be applied to such purposes as are now, or
may hereafter be provided for by law.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That Jacob Shimberger,
John Michaels and Simon Markey, are, by virtue of
this act, appointed commissioners, to superintend the
building of said bridge, and they shall require the
person or persons who shall contract with them for
the building of said bridge, to give bond with full and
ample security for the faithful performance of the said
contract, and the compensation allowed to the bridge
commissioners, for superintending and causing to have
erected said bridge, shall be discretionary with the
commissioners of Baltimore county.

Repeal.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the act of eighteen
hundred and thirty six, chapter one hundred and eigh-
ty three, be and the same is hereby repealed.
